National Invention Convention 2019 Hotel, Transportation, and Food Information


Getting to the Event and Returning Home

Inventors are responsible for costs accrued through travel to and from their home to the event. Transportation from home and outside of the specific event transportation listed below, is not included in the event registration fee. Please coordinate with your delegation leaders on the best transportation method for you.

For those traveling by air, Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) is the most convenient arrival destination. If you are traveling from the airport to your hotel, consult with your hotel for transportation suggestions. If you are traveling directly to The Henry Ford Museum, there are taxis and ride apps (Uber, Lyft) for your transportation.

Event Transportation Provided

Transportation via bus will be provided on:

* Wednesday – between event hotels and The Henry Ford Museum

* Thursday – between event hotels and The Henry Ford Museum

* Friday – between event hotels and The Henry Ford Museum

* A detailed bus schedule will be available closer to the event.

Hotel Accommodations

Lodging is not included in your registration fee. Blocks of rooms at discounted rates ($129-$139 plus tax and fees) have been reserved at the following hotels, and transportation will be provided from these hotels to and from The Henry Ford: Courtyard Dearborn, Sheraton Detroit Metro Airport, DoubleTree by Hilton. Rooms are reserved for the dates between 5/28-6/1 and will be held as groups until May 12. Families will be responsible for contacting the hotels to place their own reservations using the links below.

All meals will be and are included in your registration fee beginning with breakfast Wednesday morning through Friday night dinner. We will provide a more detailed meal schedule closer to the event.

Food Allergies: Be aware that vendors we are working with handle and prepare egg, milk, wheat, shellfish, fish, soy, peanut, and tree nut products, and other potential allergens in the food production areas of their facility. Students and their chaperones need to be fully aware of any food restrictions and plan accordingly. Please be sure to indicate any food allergies on your registration form, there is space allocated to inform the organizers.
